• The Better Business Summit, held from January 15-17,  was a resounding success, bringing together a vibrant community of business leaders committed to creating positive change. Hosted by the Better Business Network, this three-day flagship conference celebrated and educated attendees on how to build better businesses that prioritize both people and the planet. As one of the most significant events in the North, it provided a unique platform for independent dialogue, allowing businesses to come together and explore actionable solutions for shaping a brighter, more sustainable future. Hosted at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, the summit was a pivotal moment for leaders passionate about driving meaningful, lasting impact in their industries.

• The Building Back Britain 2025 event, held virtually on January 16, was a pivotal moment for the future of the UK under Keir Starmer’s leadership. During the event, Starmer outlined his transformative vision for the Labour Party and the country, focusing on five key government missions: improving the economy, the NHS, education, crime prevention, and clean energy. His plan emphasizes the continued goal of "levelling up," with greater power devolved to local administrations. Central to his vision is the ambitious target of building 1.5 million homes over the next five years and enhancing public transport to drive mobility, economic growth, and environmental outcomes. The £4.8bn fund to support local authorities in upgrading healthcare, transport, and other services is designed to foster regional progress and empower communities to collaborate on long-term development. • On 22 January, the Introduction to Social Value 2025 event took place, focusing on how businesses can support society and communities while addressing current societal challenges to enhance the planet for future generations. The programme emphasized the increasing significance of Social Value as a crucial evaluation criterion for public sector contracts and offered guidance on how to effectively respond to these criteria. The event was hosted by the GM Business Growth Hub in Manchester, UK.

• The Constellia Customer Summit 2025, held on January 22-23, was a dynamic two-day event focused on the theme of Making It Happen, which highlighted the critical role of procurement in driving positive change within public services. The summit brought together clients, suppliers, and partners for a collaborative and innovative exchange of ideas.
